Double Masters (2020) is a unique and powerful Magic: The Gathering set, notable for its “double” theme—each booster pack contains two rare or mythic and two foils, and during drafts, players make two picks at the start of each pack.
Drafting Tips and Archetypes
The set is rich in synergies, with several viable archetypes:
White: Aggressive strategies with efficient creatures like Ancestral Blade and Thraben Inspector.
Blue: Artifact synergies featuring cards like Faerie Mechanist and Parasitic Strix.
Black: Graveyard and sacrifice themes, utilizing cards such as Bloodbriar and Morkrut Banshee.
Red: Artifact-based control with key commons like Orcish Vandal and versatile removal spells like Abrade.
Green: Ramp and token strategies, with cards like Kozilek’s Predator and Conclave Naturalists.
Due to the high power level and abundance of artifacts, decks often resemble Constructed or Cube decks, emphasizing synergy and efficient mana curves.
Drafting Strategy
First Picks: With two first picks per pack, prioritize powerful rare or synergistic pairs that can guide your deck’s direction.
Synergy Over Power: While powerful cards are abundant, building around synergistic interactions often leads to more consistent decks.
Mana Fixing: Although the set doesn’t focus heavily on multicolour themes, artifacts like Chromatic Star can assist in splashing powerful off-colour cards.
Prizes:
Each player will receive a random Spring Flourishes promo card at random.
One promo pack per 4 players will be added to the prize pool, at the end of the event these boosters are opened and all active players will get to choose their prize based on final standings.
Food & Drink
We have a zero tolerance policy on outside food and drink unless you have spoken to a member of staff about dietary requirements.
We have drinks and snacks for sale at the venue at a reasonable price.
Breaking these rules WILL result in you being asked to leave the venue.

We now offer FREE parking, please find a bay at the rear of the building and pop in to make sure you are in the right space.
